Background
Peace and Development Network is non-for-profit Organization that is projected for the development of humanitarian programs in urban and rural areas of both countries Somalia and Kenya, because natural disaster and civil war has blocked progress towards improving the lives of poor people in Somalia and Kenya. The wars and natural disasters disrupt, disorient people’s lives through displacements, destruction of livelihoods and property, deaths and lead them destitute. Consequently, they take back years of development thus posing a major challenge to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.
Healthcare is one of the most essential human requirements, and its disbursement should be addressed with the requisite sensitivity to prevent loss of life and decrease in human capital, particularly Somalia and Kenyan people.
Drugs and facilities are also widespread problems and challenges in the health sector across these two countries. Most of the population are poor, increases chances of death, and deteriorated health infrastructures – Hospitals, MCH’s. In addition to the lack of drugs in the most hospitals, there are no adequate facilities and personnel to carry out correct diagnosis on patients. Some vital equipment like x-ray machines, diagnostics ultrasounds, monitors, fetal monitor and chemistry analyzers among others are not available in most health facilities. Diseases have been increasing and affected the health conditions of these countries.
PDN realized the great valuable to establish a firm social and economic base where there is steady growth in economic via agriculture, livestock, fishery, mobilized youth and women participating community development, to create better livelihood and good long-lasting peace and human rights respect through the design and implementation of desired and realistic oriented development programs.
Founders:
A group of volunteers and intellectuals initiated the idea, to find an appropriate solution to remedy the desperate natural disasters and human made catastrophes in the horn of Africa particularly Somalia and Kenya, despite tremendous setbacks encountered for the past decades. It is dedicated to play its role as a humanitarian peace and development organization in the rural and urban areas, to break or minimize the hardships caused by the destructive wars and natural harsh conditions for the past decades especially the vulnerable children, youth and women who were most affected and distressed.
Peace and development network (PDN) is a charitable and humanitarian established in California USA.PDN focus on enhancing on progress towards provisions of quality of life, peace, sustainable development, better world with social justice through dignity and security.
Vision:
Ø To eradicate: poverty, lack of education, diseases, corruption, intolerance and prejudice. Our aim is to create a civil society that promotes respect, civil engagement and improve the poverty stage.
Ø PDN is intended to address the problems facing helpless poor people, including (children, women, young generation, disable and elderly
Ø people) in Somalia and Kenya specially the orphan, displaced and needy people.
Ø Our main aim is to break the circle of poverty by providing developmental assistance to the deprived communities and families, through meeting their education, spiritual and social needs; children will be challenged to live a productive and responsible life.
Ø PDN’s main is achieving the rights of the marginalized groups, sustainable livelihood development through promoting people’s participation at all levels of the public capacity building and access to resources.

Mission
Ø Peace Development Network is a non-profit with regional mission: To advocate on behalf of vulnerable people in Somalia and Kenya and give them tangible assistance and moral support. We strive to carry out solutions for deficiency using sustainable development programs, public education, advocacy, and humanitarian assistance.
Ø We aspire to see educate community and empowered youth, women and promote human rights, peace, agriculture, fishery and livestock development.
1. Objectives:
- To increase opportunities of education, skills development and other basic services for the Children, youth and women
- To create job prospective, capacity building and income generation programs for women enabling them to become breadwinners
- To consulting the youth about the drugs to avoid domestic violence, and all kinds of criminal environments
- Danger of HIV/aids epidemic and work to its prevention and control
- Economic development (micro finance and market interaction) and socio- cultural interaction and community engagements
The projects of PDN range from one-off humanitarian actions in response to a specific urgent need to long term residential care and delivery of basic services in marginalized communities. They aim to help the most vulnerable members of the society and include work on different levels.

CONCLUSION:
v Peace and development Network (PDN) works to improve the managerial and advocacy capabilities of the countries, by helping the population in distress and victims from disasters and armed conflict.
v Provide communities with access to safe water and solutions to hunger, food security, livelihoods and shelter.
v PDN is relief, development and advocacy organization working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty.
v When no relative can able to care for a child, that is under circumstances (war, chaos and crimes), they are forced to live on the street and for that child, hope is lost. Life is hard enough for a child in these countries, when there is no one to care for them, most of children are the poorest of the poor. Poverty in childhood is the root cause of poverty in adulthood, impoverished children often grow up to be impoverished parents who in turn bring up their own children in poverty. To break the generational cycle, poverty reduction must begin with children.
v Peace Development Network Organization is a non-profit with a global mission to advocate on behalf of weak people in Africa, particularly Somali and Kenya, including women, children and vulnerable people and respond with action. We have witnessed firsthand the struggle to meet the basic needs of helpless children in the horn of Africa (Somalia and Kenya), and are committed to easing that burden. We believe that all children deserve proper nutrition, access to healthcare, and educational opportunities.
